ARTIST STATEMENT
Art is a way of living for me – a kind of meditation. I studied painting in college, with a focus on portraiture, and up until a few years ago I was exclusively focused on realism. Since 2015, I’ve moved onto abstract drawing and painting. Working at Knoll, I’ve been highly influenced by the minimalist style of mid-century modern furniture and textile designers like Anni Albers and Harry Bertoia. I’m interested in the accidental order that results from variation of line and form, and I welcome mistakes and accidents as a vehicle for expression.
