As a mixed media artist, I explore the interaction of stitch and fiber with drawing, painting, printmaking and digital imagery utilizing acrylic, pastel, ink and collage. I am inspired by explorations of my inner world and nature and working with my non-dominant hand to explore dreams, culture, and the written word. Most of all, I enjoy the process of making art and the community that it provides.
BIO
Susan splits her time between Albany, New York and Wells, NY in the Southern Adirondacks. She has enjoyed stitching since her youth and has spent years refining her skills. After a 35-year career designing and deploying award winning programs to improve the environment through energy efficiency, she began studies at the Woodstock School of Art, working abstractly for the last year. Abstraction is conducive for exploring materials, tools, techniques and subject matter. She is a member of the Studio Art Quilt Association and the Troy Arts Center and exhibits her work locally.
